Nollywood producer Uchechi Okereke has shared the inspiration behind his latest movie, The Domestic Staff, as the suspense-filled family drama prepares to premiere exclusively on Global Crown TV on YouTube on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
According to the filmmaker, The Domestic Staff is a gripping story of love, betrayal, trust and hidden secrets, exploring how a single decision can change the lives of an entire family.
Speaking about the project, Okereke revealed that the movie draws inspiration from real-life experiences and everyday situations that many families can relate to.
“I wanted to tell a story that is not only entertaining but also relatable. It is a story that will make people reflect on the choices they make and the people they choose to trust,” he said.
While family dramas are common in Nollywood, Okereke believes The Domestic Staff offers something different through its emotional storytelling and unexpected twists.
“This is more than just another family drama. Every scene builds suspense and keeps viewers guessing until the very end. Beyond the entertainment, the movie reminds us that every action has consequences, trust is priceless, and we should never take the people closest to us for granted.”
The movie stars Ray Adeka, Gift Anizoba, Ada Uli and Raphael Atewe, a cast the producer described as dedicated professionals who fully embraced the vision of the project.
“From the beginning, the cast understood exactly what we wanted to achieve. Their commitment and performances exceeded my expectations, and I believe audiences will connect with every character and every emotion portrayed on screen,” he said.
Reflecting on the production process, Okereke acknowledged that, like every film project, The Domestic Staff came with its own challenges. However, he said the determination of the cast and crew helped transform those obstacles into opportunities to create an even better movie.
“Every production has its difficult moments, and ours was no different. Those challenges pushed us to be more creative and work even harder. Looking back, I believe the experience made the movie stronger, and audiences will see the result when they watch it.”
Ahead of the premiere, the producer called on movie lovers to gather their families and friends to experience the film.
“If you enjoy stories filled with suspense, family drama, romance and unexpected twists, then The Domestic Staff is a movie you shouldn’t miss. Watch it on Global Crown TV, like, comment, subscribe and share it with others. Every viewer’s support means a lot to us, and I look forward to hearing people’s reactions after they watch the film.”
With anticipation building ahead of its release, The Domestic Staff is expected to deliver an engaging mix of suspense, emotion and powerful storytelling when it premieres Wednesday, July 8, 2026, exclusively on Global Crown TV on YouTube.
