Guinness World Records has officially certified a concert staged in Lagos as the world’s largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats performance.
The global record-keeping authority confirmed the milestone on Tuesday, recognizing the event organized by entertainment firm Dapper Live & Artists.
The performance featured a coordinated group of 85 musicians playing a live orchestral arrangement based on Afrobeats compositions.
The record-setting attempt took place on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
Titled Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, the concert featured a lead conductor, an accompanying choir, dancers, and a diverse lineup of contemporary Afrobeats artists alongside legendary Fuji musicians King Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika.
According to the organizers, the production was designed to showcase how traditional West African rhythms, Fuji music, and classical orchestral structures could seamlessly blend.
Following a thorough verification process by Guinness World Records adjudicators, the event was officially entered into the global record books. Dapper Live & Artists is led by prominent Nigerian music executive Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi.
