Nigeria’s Nightlife Gets Boost As Quilox Institute Welcomes First Cohort

by The Culture Newspaper April 23, 2026
by The Culture Newspaper April 23, 2026

Nigeria’s hospitality and nightlife sector is set for rejuvenation as Quilox Nightlife Institute has officially commenced its inaugural cohort, admitting students from across the industry.

According to Olushola Farinloye, Chief Operating Officer of Quilox, the first cohort includes hospitality founders, event production managers, nightlife security coordinators, VIP guest relations officers, and lighting and sound technicians. It also includes operations supervisors from various premium venues across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Owerri, and a few from the rest of the country.

In a statement made available to journalists, “the curriculum offers three specialized verticals: Frontline Excellence, covering service culture and safety protocols; Operational Management, focusing on logistics, vendor coordination, and event profitability; and The Ownership Track, addressing brand architecture, financial modeling, and global scaling. The institute is currently pursuing accreditation with regulatory bodies to ensure its certification translates internationally.”

Speaking to journalists, Farinloye stressed that Nightlife is mix of a business, a culture and a legacy. He said that QNI is interested in an impressive and buoyant ecosystem of Nightlife hubs across the country.

He also said, “Most people see the lights and the celebrities, but they don’t see the compliance systems or the accounting layers that keep those lights on. This institute is about taking everything we have learned in over two decades—every compliance battle, every system we built, every standard we refused to compromise—and turning it into a curriculum that outlasts any one venue or personality.”

In a similar vein, the Co-COO and Technology and Innovation Lead, Akinlabi Abiola Peller, said that the brand was willing to share technology insights and global innovative practices with their counterparts in the nightlife industry. “We are not just throwing parties. We are building an ecosystem where data, security, and immersive tech work invisibly so the magic feels effortless. The future of entertainment will involve technology-driven experiences and immersive environments, and this cohort is learning that today,” he said.

Peller stressed, “Quilox was never designed to be just another club. It was built to redefine nightlife in Nigeria and compete with the best venues in the world. The Quilox Nightlife Institute is the natural extension of that vision, professionalizing the industry so African hospitality can stand on the global stage.”

Recently, Farinloye was named Creative Director for Quilox’s international pop-up expansion into Dubai, Accra, and London. Applications for the second cohort will open in the third quarter of 2026.

Farinloye, widely known as Shola Quilox, is the Chief Operating Officer and Creative Director of Quilox, Nigeria’s premier luxury nightlife brand. With over two decades of experience in hospitality operations, compliance systems, and brand architecture, he has been instrumental in shaping Quilox’s identity from a single Victoria Island venue into a global lifestyle and entertainment institution. Recently named Creative Director for Quilox’s international pop-up expansion into Dubai, Accra, and London, Farinloye focuses on translating operational rigor into scalable, legacy-defining experiences.

On the other hand, Akinlabi Abiola-Peller, known as J-Boi or J-Boi Peller, is the Co-COO and Technology and Innovation Lead at Quilox, as well as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Vibe Tribe Entertainment. Born December 22, 1988 in Iseyin, Oyo State, he is the son of legendary magician, late Moshood Kolawole Peller and younger brother of Quilox founder, Hon. Shina Peller. J-Boi spearheads technology integration, data systems, security protocols, and immersive tech experiences at Quilox and its training arm, the Quilox Nightlife Institute. His engineer’s approach to nightlife prioritises invisible systems that enable seamless guest experiences, and he is committed to professionalizing African hospitality for global competitiveness.
