A Nigerian passenger, Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, has died aboard an international flight from Istanbul to Lagos in the early hours of Monday, April 27, 2026.

The incident was disclosed by a close associate of the deceased, Ishola Isiaq, an Imam with the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, in a post shared on his verified Facebook page.

According to the cleric, Dahunsi died mid-flight while returning to Nigeria from Türkiye. The aircraft was en route to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at the time of the incident.

“I lost a childhood friend, Late Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, this morning, Monday 27th April 2026, on his way back from Istanbul, Turkey, to Murtala Muhammed International Airport. He died inside the flight,” Isiaq wrote.

He added a prayer for the deceased, saying, “May Almighty Allah accept his return and forgive his shortcomings.”

Details surrounding the circumstances of Dahunsi’s death remain unclear, as the cleric did not disclose the cause of death or the airline involved.
