The founder of La Campaign Tropicana, Wanle Akinboboye, said on Tuesday that Nigeria is the cultural capital of the world.

Making this known on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, the 66-year-old entrepreneur emphasized why 99 per cent of Nigerians’ efforts should be on tourism development.

“Looking at our size, our primary, secondary, and extended target audience, we are almost 250 million people.

“We are the champions of music and movies, anything entertainment. It’s clear that we are the cultural capital of the world”, says Akinboboye

He also stated the utilization of the influence of Nigerian tourism in the diaspora.

He said, “We can actually start on the primary target market audience of about 1.5 billion people in the continent, over 35 million in the Caribbean, and about 120 million in Brazil.”

Tourism is a significant part of Nigeria’s benefit, with economic growth, job creation, regional development, and cultural preservation serving as its benefit.
On whether private sectors should take over some of the tourism sites in Nigeria for revenue generation, Tomiwa said,

“The focus should be on the longevity of the industry. Government should focus mainly on encouraging and creating prosperity in tourism because people are usually wired towards prosperity.”
