Moriam Musa Named African Curator For African Fashion Week London

Organisers of the African Fashion Week London (AFWL) have announced the appointment of fashion publicist, Moriam Musa, as the African Curator for this year’s edition of the annual event.

According to a statement, Ms. Musa’s extensive experience and deep understanding of African fashion and culture will bring a fresh perspective and invaluable expertise to the role.

“As the curator, Musa will be responsible for curating and showcasing the best of African fashion, highlighting the diversity, innovation and rich heritage of the continent’s fashion industry. Her keen eye for emerging designers, trendsetting styles, and her commitment to supporting African talent will play a pivotal role in shaping the event and ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees.

“As a well-known, her passion for fashion and her commitment to promoting African design and craftsmanship align perfectly with Africa Fashion Week London’s mission to provide a global platform for African fashion. Her appointment reflects the event’s dedication to championing African creativity and pushing boundaries in the industry,” the statement added.

Ms. Musa expressed excitement at the opportunity to take on the role adding that the “platform has been instrumental in showcasing African talent to the world, and I am thrilled to contribute to its growth and success. I look forward to curating a dynamic and diverse showcase that celebrates the richness and beauty of African fashion.”

Founded in 2011, AFWL has become a premier event in the global fashion calendar, attracting industry professionals, fashion enthusiasts, and media from around the world. Through its runway shows, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, the event has consistently highlighted the immense talent and creativity within the African fashion industry.

“Our working relationship with Moriam dates as far back as 2010 and We are delighted to have her as our African Curator for Africa Fashion Week London.

“Her expertise and passion for African fashion make her an ideal choice to curate the event and showcase the incredible talent coming out of the continent. The African Fashion Week London will take place between October 27th and 29th, 2023.
