Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo is celebrating a major cinematic milestone as her action-thriller ‘The Return of Arinzo’ continues its impressive box office run, grossing ₦333.8 million since its release.

The film, which premiered in Nigerian cinemas on April 3, has maintained strong momentum across West Africa, drawing large audiences and further showcasing Nollywood’s growing commercial success.

Reacting to the achievement, the film’s team expressed gratitude to fans for their overwhelming support.

“A whopping ₦333.8 million in the box office bag, and this is only possible thanks to you—our amazing audience. Thank you, West Africa, for showing up and showing out,” the statement read.

Directed and produced by Iyabo Ojo, ‘The Return of Arinzo’ serves as a sequel to ‘Arinzo’ and combines action, suspense and political intrigue in a gripping storyline.

The movie follows a rising actor who returns to Nigeria with his fiancée to support his father’s presidential ambition, only to uncover a long-buried political scandal tied to the presumed death of Arinzo. As tensions rise, the characters become entangled in betrayal, revenge and dangerous power struggles.

The film features a star-studded cast including Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe, Uzor Arukwe, Bimbo Akintola, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

Currently showing in cinemas across Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia, the film is also screening at selected Odeon cinemas in the United Kingdom ahead of its Toronto and Winnipeg premieres this month, with a US tour expected to begin on May 15.
