The Federal Government has announced that international flights will resume from August 29 as it gradually eases the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who disclosed this via his Twitter handle @hadisirika, on Monday, said the resumption will begin with the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja.
“Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption. Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience,” he wrote.
Sirika, had, during a national briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on August 6, hinted at a gradual resumption as was done with domestic operations.
The Federal Government lifted the ban on domestic flight operations in July.
