How Fire Razed JMK’s Apartment In Ikoyi – Father (Photos)

Father of reality TV star, Jumoke Adedoyin, popularly known as JMK, has confirmed that fire razed his daughter’s apartment in the early of Tuesday.

JMK is one of the housemates of the recently concluded 2021 Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition.

Raheem Adedoyin, a former Editor with the Guardian and former Commissioner for Information in Kwara State, said the fire was ignited by an electrical fault in JMK’s room.

According to him, she lost all her belongings to the inferno.

He also noted that his daughter, although traumatised by the incident, is in good shape.

“I confirm that the apartment of my daughter, Zainab Adejumoke Adedoyin (aka JMK) in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, was razed by fire in the early hours of Tuesday, 16th November, 2021.

“The fire, ignited by an electrical fault, started from her room and engulfed other sections of the apartment.
Firefighters stationed in the Estate eventually put out the fire. Mercifully, no life was lost and no one was physically injured despite the massive destruction to the property.

“Zainab lost all her belongings in the apartment (wears, electronics, certificates, international passports, phones etc ) to the inferno.

“Although traumatized, she is presently in good shape and is making efforts to retrieve her certificates and other vital documents.

“She will come online and make statements on her verified social media accounts as soon as she retrieves the sim card she uses for those accounts.

“Again, Zainab is in good shape and we thank the Almighty Allah for His favours on her and the family,” he wrote in a statement made available to TCN.

In a related development, JMK has taken to social media to narrate how the fire broke out.

Confirming her father’s account of the incident, she said a power surge had set her air conditioner on fire after power was restored on the fateful day.

However, she called out those who have accused her of using the incident to chase clout.

“It is how insensitive and inhumane some of you are. BBN is just a show. There are real-life situations and making jokes about this, saying I’m chasing clout is very sad and annoying,” she wrote on Snapchat.

The lawyer-cum-reality TV star said she would bounce back from the setback.
