A few days after the maiden award night of Calabar Carnival Commission, Governor. Ben Ayade of Cross River State has ordered the immediate suspension of Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Gabe Onah.
Onah’s suspension was contained in a statement signed on Monday in Calabar by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Christian Ita.
The governor said that the suspension was with immediate effect.
He however did not give any reason for the suspension of the commission’s chairman.
“His Excellency, the state Governor, Sir Ben Ayade, has approved the suspension of Mr. Gabe Onah as the chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Commission. The suspension is with immediate effect,” the statement reads in part.
The suspension is coming two days after the commission held its maiden award night in Calabar.
No replacement has also been announced.
