Fast-rising Nigerian Singer, BNXN (formerly known as Buju) snagged the much-coveted Headies Next Rated Award and won himself a brand new Bentley.
The 15th edition of the award, themed ‘Join the Movement’, was held in the early hours of Monday (Nigerian time) at the Cobbs Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, United States.
Hosted by Anthony Anderson and Osas Ighodaro, it was the first time the award ceremony would be held outside Nigeria since its inception in 2006.
Other big winners of the night were Wizkid, Patoranking, and Ayra Starr.
Represented by his manager, Sunday Are, Big Wiz clinched ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best Collaboration’, and ‘Album of the Year’ for his acclaimed 2020 album ‘Made in Lagos’, and his hit song with Tems, ‘Essence’.



Patoranking also got the ‘Best Recording Of The Year’ as well as ‘Best Reggae & Dancehall Album’ categories.
Ayra Starr won the ‘Headies’ Viewer’s Choice’ category while Olamide clinched the award for ‘Best Rap Album’.
Attended by a delegation from Lagos State government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, the award ceremony drew music stars from Nigeria and music industry professionals from Atlanta, Georgia in a clear attempt to increase collaboration between Nigeria and USA in the area of creative industries.
