‘Amina’, ‘Rattlesnake’, ‘Omo Ghetto’ Bag Multiple AMVCA Nominations [FULL LIST]

Africa Magic have announced the nominees for the eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Nigerian actors Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Daniel Etim Effiong reeled out the nominees for this year’s AMVCA via a live stream on Saturday night.

Izu Ojukwu’s historical drama ‘Amina’ is the highest nominated film, with 12 nominations in major categories. It is followed by Ramsey Nouah’s ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story’ with 10 Nominations and Funke Akindele’s ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ which clinched 9 Nominations.

Akindele is also nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in ‘Omo Ghetto’.

Bolanle Austen-Peters’ Collision Course also earned six nominations.
This year’s awards will be in 33 categories, including the newly introduced Best Online Social Content Creator which has the likes of Mr. Macaroni, Sabinus and Elozonam, among others as nominees.

According to organisers, viewers voted in 12 categories, while the awards jury, chaired by filmmaker and President of Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) Victor Okhai, selected 21.
