Top music act, Flavour of Africa and other entertainers including Funnybone, Phyno, Ada Ugoccie, Odumeji, Whitemoney, DJ MClord and the NYD Crew gave revellers in Umunze, Anambra State the time of their lives on New Year’s Day.
St Augustine’s field, Umunze, was sent agog as the highlife act had a homecoming concert facilitated by Life Continental Beer. The concert was premised on the beer brand’s TuruUgoLota initiative, a tradition among easterners who travel from all over the country to their hometowns to celebrate their accomplishments at the end of the year.
Businessman, Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, was among guests at the concert in honour of Flavour who had an amazing run in 2021. He had a US tour that included sold-out shows in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and his headline performance at New York’s legendary SOB.
Commenting on the successful hosting of the concert, Senior Brand Manager, Life Continental Beer, Aishat Anaekwe, said that she was elated with the massive turnout of music lovers.
She also expressed the brand’s gratitude to its customers for the patronage and supporting its initiatives in Igbo communities.
“Life Continental Beer is currently dominating the beer category in the South East and has grown to become a dominant beer brand in the country. We are driving the penetration of Life beer into other regions and ensuring we sustain the legacy of goodwill among these host communities and our partners there,” she said.
Beyond being an adage, TuruUgoLota is a passion that weighs upon every young Igbo, to go forth into the world—despite its challenges and limitations—build new relationships, work hard and attain success.
