The chairman of the Association of Movie Producers, Federal Capital Territory Chapter (AMP-FCT), Desmond Utomwen has been invited to moderate a key session at the 22nd Abuja International Film Festival (AIFF), scheduled to hold from 6th to 10th November.

According to a letter signed by Fidelis Duker, the founder of the AIIF, Utomwen will moderate the panel discussion on “THE POWER OF CINEMATIC STORYTELLING IN A GLOBALIZED WORLD” scheduled for 7th of November 2025.

“This session will explore how screenwriters and storytellers use film to explore, challenge, and define a nation’s identity and also interrogate the unique responsibility of the screenwriter in a country’s evolving social landscape,” according to the letter.

“Your deep knowledge would be invaluable to our discussions and would greatly benefit our attendees, who include policymakers, filmmakers, producers, and students.

“We would be honoured to have you share your insights and engage in a thought-provoking conversation with fellow industry experts. We believe your participation will be a highlight of this year’s festival,” organisers of AIFF reputed to be West Africa’s longest-running film festival said.

AIFF had in its over two decades of existence built a reputation for showcasing cinematic excellence, fostering networking, and promoting cultural exchange will be held at Silverbird Cinema, Central Area Abuja.
