Egypt Government Denies Raising Visa Fee From US $25 To US $45

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has dismissed recent claims that the country has raised visa fees from US$25 to US$45, as reported by Egypt Independent. The ministry confirmed that no such decision has been taken and the reports circulating are false.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that “no executive decisions have been made regarding increasing visa fees.” The only step so far has been setting a maximum limit for visa fees, and this does not constitute an actual increase.

The statement also urged media outlets and social media users to verify information with official sources before publishing, stressing that all updates on visas and related matters will be shared through official government announcements.

“The ministry urges all media outlets and social media users to verify information and contact official sources before publishing any information on this matter,” the statement concluded.

The clarification comes amid ongoing interest in Egypt’s tourism policies, with authorities emphasizing accurate reporting to prevent the spread of misinformation.
