Nigerian music star, Davido’s newly-released music album, ‘Timeless’, has reached another milestone after it amassed one million streams six hours after it was released on music streaming and downloading platform, Boomplay.

The 17-track project was released in the early hours of Friday and was announced across the artiste’s social media handles.

His fourth studio album also set a new record for African music and Afrobeats as a whole on the US charts. It holds the record for the highest position on the Apple Music Top albums chart for US at number 3.

The record was previously held by Wizkid’s ‘More Love Less Ego’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ which both peaked at number 4 on the chart.

‘Timeless’ became the no. 1 album on Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, UK’s Top Albums Chart, as well as in 17 other countries on Apple Music.

Singles on the album reportedly topped Sierra Leone’s Apple Music Songs Chart, from number 1-17.

The album marks Davido’s first major music project since ‘A Better Time’, which was released in 2022.

This is also Davido’s first musical release since the demise of his 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi, in October 2022.
