There has been a whole lot of bruhaha about the recent statement credited to mudic star, David Adeleke (Davido).
The truth is that as Nigerians we cannot run away from the truth about the state of our beloved nation.
As a matter of fact, the absolute truth about our beloved nation and our dwindling economy is general knowledge to all and sundry globally.
Yes Nigeria is abundantly blessed but we cannot survive on being blessed alone.
It is worthy to note that this challenge is not limited to this adminstration but the truth remains sacroscant.
It is what it is.
Americans and foreigners generally before leaving their respective countries even on holidays are given full dossier on the countries they are visiting not to talk of a country where they intend relocating to or investing in.
Has Davido lied about our current economic predicament in Nigeria? Hell no! Factually he hasnt.
He has simply spoken his truth, our common truth that a lot of people for reasons best known to them find difficult to ascertain. This discourse lingers on literarily in every corner across the globe.
With the dollar rate rising every day as Nigerians, we spend more time praying to God for his devine mercies rather than finding solutions to our humongus challenges.

Davido though born in Atlanta, USA, has vested interests in Nigeria – in business and politics – through his personal investments, his family’s interest and flourishing political dynasty in Osun State.
His ongoing phillantropic gestures are second to none at his age. As such, he has no reason whatsover to distort the facts about Nigeria his beloved Country, that has given him and his family so much admiration and generational wealth.
He proudly flies the Nigerian Flag globally and at every given opportunity affirms the Nigerian in him.
How then does Davido saying the honest truth about what everybody knows become a major triversty?
We live in a country where we are promised heaven and earth on a daily basis.
A country where unarmed protesters are shot at and killed with live bullets; a country where our standard of living is determined by the ever rising dollar rate; where the exodus and relocation of companies and its people has become an accepted norm.
A country where we virtually provide all our basic needs like shelter, light and water.
An oil-producing nation where petrol is sold at N1,300 per litre.
A country where basically anything goes.
As echoed by a lot of people and in particular, tge popular artiste, Rugged Man, the way forward is for the government to do the needful by changing the narative and making life easier for the common man and creating an enabling enviroment for business to flourish.
More importantly, creating a country where foreigners will love to visit and invest in.
Many people have waxed lyrical on the Nigerian economic situation and hardship since time immemorial; ala Idris Abdul Kareem (Nigeria JagaJaga) 22 years ago and more, still the same story and probably worse off, so why the fuss about a very hardworking creative and talented young man saying his truth about our common truth.
Davido spoke his truth, our common truth, the way forward is for the government to change the narative by making Nigeria the toast of the world.
