Actor Brian-Todd Anthony Boucher, who appeared in the film Bob Marley: One Love, was shot and killed in Waterford, St Catherine, on Saturday night, police have confirmed.
Boucher, 43, who was also known as “Ajoy” and was from Northport Way in New York, had arrived in Jamaica just hours before the fatal shooting, according to sources.
He portrayed alleged Jamaican gangster Claudie Massop in the biographical film.
A 37-year-old man who was with Boucher was also shot and injured during the attack. Detectives assigned to the St Catherine South Police Division are investigating the incident.
Reports indicate that Boucher and the other man were walking along a roadway when they were approached by armed men travelling in a motor car.
Police sources said one of the gunmen exited the vehicle and opened fire, hitting both men before the attackers fled the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
