Ayra Starr Dismisses Claims That Roc Nation Contract Bans Her from Dating

Nigerian singer and songwriter Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has addressed the recent rumors circulating on social media about alleged dating restrictions in her contract with Roc Nation.

The rising star, who recently signed a five-year deal with Jay-Z’s renowned entertainment company, was the subject of speculation after a podcaster claimed that her agreement included a clause preventing her from having a boyfriend or starting a family during the contract period.

“Ayra Starr isn’t allowed to have a boyfriend or start a family during her five-year contract with Roc Nation,” the podcaster stated on X (formerly Twitter).

However, the hitmaker swiftly dismissed these claims, suggesting that people often spread falsehoods without hesitation. In a sarcastic response, she wrote, “Does Ayra Starr know about this?”—implying that the rumors were fabricated without her knowledge.

Further dispelling the speculation, Starr reposted a tweet that read, “Them lie on top your head for broad daylight,” subtly confirming that the reports were entirely untrue.

This isn’t the first time the 21-year-old artist has made headlines. Recently, she celebrated a major career milestone after earning a new certification, solidifying her place as one of Africa’s fastest-rising music stars. Additionally, she has previously spoken about her admiration for global icon Rihanna, who once referred to her as a favorite artist.
