Afrobeats superstars Asake and Wizkid have continued their dominance on the global music scene as their collaborative track ‘MMS’ has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.

According to a post shared on X on Sunday by music tracking platform, #TheDebutHub, Asake and Wizkid’s “MMS” has now surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. It marks Asake’s eighth and Wizkid’s 17th song to achieve this milestone across all credits on the platform.

The Grammy-nominated collaboration has been hailed as a standout fusion of Asake’s energetic Yoruba-infused sound and Wizkid’s smooth, melodic style. ‘MMS’ earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, underscoring the track’s international appeal and the growing influence of Afrobeats on the global stage.

The song is currently the most streamed track from Asake’s Lungu Boy album which was released on August 8, 2024.

The success of ‘MMS’ builds on the momentum from their joint project, Real Vol. 1 EP, released in January 2026. The EP, which features hits like “Jogodo,” quickly became a commercial force, with the project reportedly surpassing significant streaming milestones and charting prominently across platforms, including topping charts in multiple countries.

Their partnership has been credited with delivering some of the biggest Nigerian collaborations in recent years, further cementing both artists’ status as leading figures in the genre.

Fans have taken to social media to celebrate the achievement. “Asake & Wizkid’s ‘MMS’ has now surpassed 100 MILLION streams on Spotify. Smash hit,” #Asarailu_ posted on X. Another user, #OlatoyosiE20848, noted, “MMS has now surpassed 100 MILLION streams on Spotify! It’s the 89th Nigerian song to achieve the milestone.”

#djyoungjozzy added context on the broader impact “It marks Asake’s 8th & Wizkid’s 17th Song to surpass this milestone… What’s your favorite?” while listing other tracks from their collaborations.

The milestone for ‘MMS’ comes as Afrobeats continues to enjoy massive global traction, with Nigerian artists leading the charge in international streaming numbers and award recognitions.
