For nearly two decades, Artcolony Gallery has been at the forefront of promoting contemporary African art, providing a platform for both emerging and established artists.

Established in 2009, the gallery has become a centre for artistic excellence, attracting collectors, art enthusiasts, and connoisseurs from across Nigeria and beyond.

Recognised for its vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and mixed media works, Artcolony Gallery has built a reputation as a premier space for showcasing authentic African art.

Artcolony Gallery prides itself on unveiling new artistic talents while featuring established masters. It has remained a melting pot for creativity, offering art lovers an ever-evolving display of works that capture Africa’s rich culture and contemporary expressions.

Speaking on the gallery’s success, the founder Bola Opadiran spoke about the gallery’s dedication to meeting the demands of art lovers by intentionally incorporating diverse artists into their exhibitions.

“Our mission is to provide art enthusiasts with a wide range of styles and techniques that showcase the ingenuity of African artists,” Opadiran said.

Opadiran’s unique artistic style, which he calls “Opaism,” involves the use of pixelated materials such as seashells, wood, jute, leather, plastic, and other discarded items to create stunning compositions.

His works often explore the complexities of life and challenge traditional artistic norms.

Despite having no formal art education, Opadiran has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most innovative artists.

His dedication to experimentation and reinvention has made him a sought-after figure in the art world, with his pieces adorning the walls of corporate bodies and private collectors.

“We believe in building strong relationships with our clients and artists, ensuring that every visitor to our gallery experiences the richness of African art,” Opadiran noted.
