Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.

The 25-year-old was announced as the winner of the national beauty pageant during the grand finale on Saturday evening in Lagos State.

Basil outshone 21 other contestants to succeed the 2024 winner, Chidimma Adetishina.

Speaking at the event, the newly crowned queen said, “I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity.”

Following her victory, Basil will be representing Nigeria at the global Miss Universe 2025 competition.

Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, emerged as first runner-up, while Fortune Kurobo, representing Bayelsa, finished as second runner-up, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, became third runner-up.
