The African Union Commission in partnership with the All Africa Music Awards and TraceTV will commemorate this year’s Africa Day celebration as a Live Online Solidarity Concert For The COVID-19 Response Fund.
Themed ‘Health Security in the Context of COVID-19’ and tagged #StrongerTogether, the virtual concert is slated for Monday May 25, the day traditionally reserved to celebrate everything Africa.
According to a statement issued by AFRIMA’s Associate Producer, Adenrele Niyi, the concert is AFRIMA’s first event of the year and is in response to the emerging new world order and the implications for businesses and organisations.

“The #strongertogether concert aims to use the power of music and the crucial role of African artists in advocating for the curb of COVID-19 on the continent,” the statement reads.
2baba, Awilo Longomba, DJ Spinall, Master KG, Becca and other great African artistes have been scheduled to perform.
The show will be hosted by British-Congolese comedian, Eddie Kadi; and Co-hosted by Nigerian Singer, Chidinma as well as Cameroonian TV personality, Miss P.
It will be broadcast live on Trace TV channels on DSTV and other partner stations and live-streamed on AU, TRACE and AFRIMA’s Facebook pages and other social media handles at 4pm (WAT), 5pm (CAT) and 6pm (EAT).
