Arab music legends set for special ‘Eid in Dubai’ concerts

Popular Arabic performers will take to the stage this ‘Eid in Dubai’ for unique and star-studded live concerts, with audiences experiencing amazing renditions of timeless songs alongside the latest chart hits.

Presented by Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the glamorous Dubai Opera shows are the first live concerts by Arabic performers in Dubai since the lifting of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions across the city. Two of the most eagerly awaited live events of the year so far, the shows have sparked massive excitement among fans of Middle Eastern music of all ages.

Emirati superstar Hussain Al Jassmi and Lebanese singer Yara will host a live charity show in support of UNICEF on 1 August at Dubai Opera from 10 pm until midnight.

The concert is an opportunity for Arabic music lovers to indulge their passion for classic songs, contemporary hits and to support youngsters whose lives have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, as all proceeds from the concert will aid UNICEF’s #Reimagine campaign.

Al Jassmi and Yara’s one-night-only charity show is part of the Eid Al Adha celebrations and is hosted by ‘Eid in Dubai’ and MBC Hope. Appearing alongside Al Jassmi and Yara will be some of the best young singers from the popular regional talent series, ‘The Voice Kids’. They will perform a selection of the latest songs from the hit show.

Dubai Opera will also host another legend of the Arabic music world for a grand, unique and innovative performance. The late Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum will take to the stage for three incredible nights of live hologram shows as part of the Umm Kulthum Hologram Concert at Dubai Opera on 6, 7 and 8 August.

For Umm Kulthum’s performance at Dubai Opera in partnership with MBC Group, the very latest audio and visual technology will be used to project a perfect hologram of the singer onto the stage as she performs some of her most famous songs accompanied by live musicians.

The other show, organised mainly for the ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations, will be the second time that the Umm Kulthum Hologram Concert has been performed in the city after it amazed and delighted audiences at the 25th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival earlier this year.

A chance for a new generation of music lovers, as well as older fans of Umm Kulthum, to see the star sing live, this latest show features even more of her most popular songs all perfectly recreated and performed live on stage.
