The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards slated for January 31, 2021 has been postponed due to COVID-19, which has been rapidly spreading in its host city, Los Angeles.
The postponement is coming less than four weeks before it was scheduled to take place virtually without specific plans.
Rolling Stone, which broke the news, reported that the Recording Academy is looking to reschedule for March.
The nominations were rolled out by stars across the globe speaking via video chat with Comedian, Trevor Noah billed to host the 2021 star-studded gala.
The Grammy joins other award shows, like the Emmys and the Latin Grammy, that have been forced to go partially or fully virtual in light of pandemic restrictions on large gatherings.
Los Angeles is now among the hotspots of the pandemic, with hospitals recording high number of cases and the city residents under a stay-at-home order.
