Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has declared himself a “hardcore traditionalist.”

Many are surprised by this about face, given that the controversial actor started his own internet church, The Salvation Ministry, last year.

In a recent Instagram post, Edochie declared that he will never quit his forefathers’ faith, implying that he had converted to the traditional religion.

He claimed that fear of public opinion is causing Africans to abandon their original religions.

He wrote: “Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful religion, their originality. Abomination!

“I will never abandon the ways of my forefathers. It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. I’m a hardcore traditionalist.”
