Video Jockey Do2dtun Slams Bauchi Govt Over Ban On DJs

Nigerian disc jockey, Oladotun Ojuolape, popularly known as Do2dtun, has condemned the ban on DJs and event planners by the Bauchi State government.

Recall that he expressed his disapproval through his 𝕏 page, describing the decision as unfair and damaging to the creative industry.

The law, introduced in Bauchi State, restricts the activities of disc jockeys and event organisers across the state.

The government explained that the move was necessary to curb high divorce rate, restore moral and spiritual foundation of marriage.

The ban includes the use of DJs, gala nights, kawayawade, aloba, and other entertainment activities seen as promoting immoral behaviour.

DJ Dotun reacted to the development by criticising the policy as poorly thought out and harmful to many Nigerians who rely on entertainment for their livelihood.

He argued that such laws show a lack of understanding about the role of the creative industry in job creation and youth empowerment.

“If you are the one that came up with the law to ban Djs and event planners in a state then you are very very useless. What a complete level of ignorance tied to hopelessness and joblessness. What is the effect of such law. Some people are so backward in tis Nigeria”, he wrote on Monday afternoon.
