Veteran filmmaker and cinematographer, Tunde Kelani, has formally joined the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
TK, as he is fondly known, announced his membership while delivering a lecture at Crescent University, Abeokuta recently.
He expressed satisfaction with the achievements recorded by the association so far and said he was glad to become a member.
He also assured the TAMPAN leadership of moral and professional support.
Reacting to the development, the President of the Association, Bolaji Amusan (a.k.a Mr Latin), who described the news as a welcome development, thanked the ace filmmaker for his immense contributions to the entertainment industry in Nigeria.
Amusan commended him for his undying love for the profession as well as his efforts towards the growth of the industry. He reiterated his commitment towards sustaining the achievements recorded by his administration and promised the 74-year old veteran that the Association would continue to celebrate his legacies.

Similarly, Ebun Oloyede (a.k.a Olaiya Igwe) who also commended the decision of TK to identify with TAMPAN, assured him that he would never regret such decision.
Born on the February 26, 1948, Tunde Kelani has received various awards and nominations, some of which include the City People Movie Lifetime Achievement Award, Africa Movie Academy Award Nomination for Best Nigerian Filmmaker and so on.
With a career spanning over five decades, Kelani has specialised in producing movies that promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and have a root in documentation, archiving, education, entertainment and promotion of the culture. He is an alumnus of the prestigious London Film School.
He was recentku honoured with an honorary doctorate degree by the Leads University, Ibadan.
