Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Ministers To Grace Lagos’ Cultural Festival

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and top government officials are expected at a major cultural festival holding September 19–20, 2025, at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

The two-day event, themed “Our Culture, Our Pride,” is organised by Young Achievers for a Better Tomorrow and will showcase Nigeria’s diverse heritage through traditional dances, native attires, and cuisines from across the country. It will also feature empowerment programmes targeted at vulnerable and unemployed youths.

Speaking at a flag-off rally in Lagos, the convener, King Martin’s, said the festival aims to promote cultural preservation while helping young people chart meaningful life goals.

“Our bid is to create awareness on the importance of safeguarding our traditions and cultural values. These values have embedded benefits such as job creation, increased revenue, preservation of our historical heritage, and fostering national unity,” he stated.

He noted that Nigeria’s cultural diversity, spanning over 250 ethnic groups, represents an untapped driver of economic growth through tourism, citing international attention drawn by the Argungu Fishing Festival, Calabar Carnival, and Osun Osogbo Festival.

The organisers commended President Tinubu for supporting the South-West’s recent declaration of Isese Day on August 20, describing it as proof of his administration’s commitment to inclusiveness and cultural preservation.

The Lagos festival is expected to attract cultural institutions, private sector partners, and international tourism enthusiasts, making it one of Nigeria’s largest cultural gatherings in 2025.
