The Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said President Bola Tinubu is committed to fostering culture and tourism development in Nigeria.

The minister added that the President, out of his passion for the country’s value and unique image, had rebranded the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy to promote peace and unity.

Tunji-Ojo stated this on Sunday while speaking at the 100 anniversary of Okeagbe Community, the headquarters of Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State .

He said, ” The President has rebranded the Ministry of Creative Economy and Tourism, which has been living up to expectations, and the Federal Executive Council has also approved the creative industry.

“Our president is committed to promoting culture and tourism. So I congratulate our people on Okeagbe over the 100 years of unification, harmony, and co-existence, and we are looking forward to the next 100 years full of bliss.

“The people are also appreciating the President for appointing their son as the Minister of Interior. Also, we thank His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for the good jobs he is doing to take the state to an enviable height,”

Tunji-Ojo also commended the state governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his efforts to develop the state, emphasising that the governor had turned around the fortunes of the state in the last 11 months

Also speaking, the Governor, Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was represented at the event by the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus, urged the traditional rulers in the state to keep showcasing their various cultures for the essence of promoting them.

“We are happy that there is peace everywhere in Ondo state, for instance, trace it from Ikare, Arigidi, Okeagbe Akoko and all other places. So there is peace in the state. We have four traditional rulers here, and they are all living as one, so we want them to continue in that spirit.

“The government of Ondo state believes in our traditional leaders. Once there is peace among traditional rulers, it will be easier for us to promote our culture. We have reached out to our traditional rulers to keep exhibiting the culture of their various communities,” Aiyedatiwa said.
