Singer Rihanna Reportedly Set To Release Ninth Studio Album

Rihanna is reportedly preparing to release her ninth studio album.

The Diamonds hitmaker is said to be preparing for her debut album in eight years.

The Sun reported remarks from an unidentified “well-placed industry insider” stating Rihanna, 36, is preparing to release a new album after recording and discarding a full album’s worth of material.

“It’s been a running joke how long Rihanna’s ninth album has taken to be released, but finally the wait is almost over,” according to a source.

“Because she wants it to sound fresh, and because of where Rihanna is at in her life, practically everything was scrapped.”

The source added: Rihanna has dabbled with a number of various genres before realizing none of her work was good enough.

“She has gone from pop to reggae to hip hop and everything in between,” the source reportedly told the outlet.

Rihanna’s last album, Anti, was released in 2016. Since then, the singer has begun a family with her husband, A$AP Rocky, 35, and will give birth to their son, RZA, in May 2022. He was succeeded by a sister, Riot Rose, born in August 2023.

Rihanna, an entrepreneur, has been busy increasing her reported net worth to more than $1.4 billion (£1.1 billion) with her hugely successful Fenty cosmetics and Savage X Fenty lingerie brands.
