Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo, better known as Ruger, has achieved recognition internationally in his music career.

Asiwaju, one of the songs of the music star, has been certified gold in France. According to reports, for a song to be certified gold, it must have sold at least 500,000 units as records, tapes or compact disc.

In the post shared on both Instagram and the microblogging platform, X, it was also noted that the singer has 15,000,000 streams for his song Asiwaju.

Fans of the ‘Girlfriend’ crooner were excited about the good news and congratulated him. Supporters of Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid FC, also joined in celebrating Ruger.

It’s noteworthy that Ruger who is a fan of Wizkid and his music, weeks ago appealed to his colleague to allow him inherit his fanbase whenever he retires from music.

The ‘Bounce’ crooner made the appeal via his X handle. He pleaded to Wizkid to will his fanbase to him if he decides to quit music, and if his son, Zion, is also not interested in making music. He wrote, “@wizkidayo if you ever decide to not do music again, and Zion no wan do music Slsef, pls write my name Ruger as the person to inherit your fanbase in your music will.”
