Love was in the air last week Monday but the Valentine’s Day hit Nigerian celebrities in different forms.
For Annie Idibia, the Nollywood actress, she simply took to social media to celebrate Innocent Idibia (2Baba), her musician husband, for gifting her ₦50 million as Valentine’s Day present.

In a series of posts on her Instagram stories last week, the actress shared screenshots of the credit alerts she received from her husband.

Annie also appreciated 2Baba for the gift while describing him as an “amazing” husband.

“So Happy! Over the moon. Something light he said ooo – For val’s as I no get u flowers!! Then boom pow pow five alerts N50M for flowers,” she wrote.

“Ahhhhhhhhh Check my stories for the five alerts! Ah a guy oooo #annieIdibia #YFA #youngFamousAndAfrican #itsTheBigLilThings. Pls bombard his @official2baba page let him know – he’s sooooooo amazing.”

Not a few has expressed wonder that Idibia could afford to gift his wife N50m at a go. But then others think nothing can be too much from a husband to a wife that recently went through a turbulent period in their matrimonial journey.

Similarly, music star, Davido also took to his Instagram handle to announce that he has fulfilled his pledge to donate ₦250m to 292 orphanage homes in Nigeria.

“I bring you an update as promised. Since its inauguration, the members of the committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that they collate the names and information of the documented and verified orphanages.

“So far, the total of ₦250m has been disbursed to 292 orphanages.

“I thought it wise to give you my loyal fans, friends and family an update in this regard.

“Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Thank you for your continuous support and prayer.

The singer had in 2021 requested that his friends and colleagues donate a million naira each on the occasion of his birthday.

Davido, whose initial target was ₦200m, personally added ₦50m and disclosed that the sum would be disbursed to orphanages across the country.

For days, Davido trended as even CNN interviewed him for receiving such an amount of money in a short time.

His Val’s day clarification had come after many social media users had demanded details of the disbursement to the orphanages.
