Doha, Qatar: Qatar Travel Mart 2023, which concludes today , has attracted more than 250 exhibitors, presenting a diverse array of tourism and travel packages.

Participants have come from around the world including Russia, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea.

The Moscow City Tourism Committee has actively promoted Russia, especially targeting Middle Eastern travellers. It stressed the strategic importance of the Middle East as a key partner in Moscow’s flourishing tourism sector.

To strengthen ties, the committee organised multiple initiatives, including on-ground roadshows and business missions in various countries. In February this year, it held an on-ground roadshow in the country as part of an ongoing initiative to promote Moscow.

Russia is rapidly gaining prominence as a compelling destination for both leisure and business travel, offering a diverse range of products.

The committee highlighted Moscow’s appeal, stating that the city hosts numerous year-round entertainment options accessible to all without admission fees, including festivals, concerts, art exhibitions, fairs, and sports events.

Russian booth showcases a winter-theme, a human-size Matryoshka doll, its fabric patterns, and winter clothing.

The Japanese booth at the event captures the essence of Japan, featuring a picturesque cherry blossom tree background for photo opportunities. Visitors can engage with cut-out standees while adorned in traditional attire — a Kimono for women and Haori for men. The Japan National Tourism Organization outlines various ways to explore Japan, from nature, tradition, food, art, culture, city tours, and relaxation.

Thailand’s booth showcases the country’s rich culture, relaxation, and even its national sport, Muay Thai. Recent report from The Peninsula highlighted Thailand as a highly sought-after destination for travellers from Qatar.

The South Korea pavilion offers a multifaceted glimpse into the East Asian country, presenting tourism highlights, medical offerings, skincare treatments, and promoting its bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan.

Visitors to the Qatar Travel Mart can also explore booths from Costa Rica, featuring folkloric women’s attire and Café de Costa Rica.

Other booths include Mexico, showcasing traditional Mexican dress and hats for interactive photo opportunities; Rwanda, highlighting its coffee and natural beauty; as well as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkiye, Ecuador, Sri Lanka, and India, among others.

The event will be open today from 10am to 7pm at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), West Bay.
