The Lagos State Police Command has arrested music promoter, Samson Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, over an ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a late Thursday night post on X.
“Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with ongoing investigation,” he wrote.
Recall that the police had earlier invited Sam Larry and Marlian Records boss, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, following accusations that the duo intimidated and harrased the late singer before his demise.
However, it remains unclear if the controversial music promoter surrendered himself to the police or was apprehended as the command’s spokesperson did not give any further information.
Mohbad, before his demise, had on June 27 2023, filed a petition against Sam Larry, requesting protection over his life and property after he was attacked on the shoot of a music video alongside another artiste, Zlatan.
Sam Larry has continued to trend on social media after a video where he and some others were allegedly seen harassing Mohbad surfaced on social media.
In the video, Mohbad and Zlatan were on set for a music video when Larry allegedly stormed the scene with some boys targeting Mohbad who scampered away in fear. Zlatan, however, tried to save the situation as he stood up to Larry and his allies to forestall any attack or bullying on Mohbad.
