Tourists who are visiting Paris and are planning to visit the iconic Eiffel Tower may need to make changes in their itinerary as the world famous and iconic monument is currently off limits for all tourism purposes. At present, the Eiffel Tower is closed for tourists as a result of a scheduled labour strike.

Before visiting, visitors to the iconic monument are advised to check the official website of Eiffel Tower for any new information regarding the ongoing strike and whether or not the monument is open to tourists.

Also, for those who have already purchased an electronic ticket, check for messages regarding the same.

The Eiffel Tower, renowned for its grandeur and historical significance, typically welcomes visitors every day of the year. However, there have been occasional closures due to several reasons.

The one that happened in December, during the festive Christmas and New Year’s holidays, was due to a labour strike revolving around contract negotiations.

The ongoing strike is fueled by demands for fair compensation and enhanced upkeep of the Eiffel Tower.
So since the Eiffel Tower is shut for now, let’s look at some of the most interesting facts about Eiffel Tower, one of the world’s most recognised and visited monuments.
