Olamide Reveals Why Stage Performances Still Make Him Nervous

Nigerian rap icon Olamide, born Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, has candidly spoken about the lingering fear he experiences before stepping onto the stage, revealing that disturbing encounters from previous shows continue to fuel his anxiety.

During a conversation with renowned YouTuber Korty EO, the ‘Baddo’ hitmaker disclosed that his pre-show tension is deeply rooted in several alarming incidents he has endured while performing live.

According to Olamide, unexpected confrontations with overzealous fans, such as individuals suddenly snatching at his chain or hat, have left him deeply unsettled.

“I get nervous every time I go on stage. I’ve had too many crazy experiences while performing. Someone from nowhere will just come and grab your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he shared.

The rapper portrayed these episodes as intensely distressing, emphasising how they have gradually eroded his self-assurance and mental preparedness before live appearances.

Despite his towering success as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music stars, Olamide admitted that these troubling experiences have made him increasingly cautious and apprehensive about future stage performances.
