Preparations are well underway for the 19th edition of the Nigeria Media Nite Award (NMNA), an esteemed event that has become a hallmark of excellence in Nigeria’s media landscape. The awards ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, at the B Event Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

With a reputation for recognising outstanding journalists, broadcasters, publishers, and media executives, the NMNA has established itself as a significant platform for celebrating professionalism and contributions that have significantly impacted communication in Nigeria. Now entering its 19th year, the NMNA continues to inspire media practitioners nationwide and has gained respect among policymakers, corporate leaders, and industry stakeholders who acknowledge the media’s essential role in national growth.

This year’s event, according to organisers, promises to be spectacular, attracting a host of dignitaries, industry leaders, and influential personalities from various sectors. Attendees can expect an evening filled with glamour and inspiration as they honour the dedicated individuals shaping Nigeria’s narratives and reinforcing democratic principles.

Hon. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani, the managing director and chief executive officer of the Nigeria Agriculture Insurance Corporation (NAIC), will serve as the evening’s Guest Speaker. He is expected to deliver a compelling address on the evolving role of media in fostering national development and the importance of integrity in modern journalism.

The event will also be attended by Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, as the Special Guest of Honour, and Hon. Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, Federal Republic of Nigeria, as the Special Guest.

Organisers anticipate a star-studded gathering of dignitaries from various fields, including government officials, business leaders, entertainment icons, and representatives from major media houses, creating an atmosphere of prestige and celebration.

According to the organisers, this year’s NMNA will extend beyond the glamour of awards; it aims to promote excellence in journalism, foster unity within the media community, and strengthen the connection between the media and other sectors pivotal to Nigeria’s development.

Voting categories for the NMNA have been rolled out, enabling media enthusiasts and professionals nationwide to participate by casting their votes for their preferred journalists and media personalities.

Mr. Shola Olugbemiro, Convener of the Nigeria Media Nite Award, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the ongoing growth and significance of the awards. He noted the substantial support from various corporate sponsors and partners, who are aligned with the vision of celebrating the best in Nigeria’s media sector.

Emphasising the NMNA’s commitment to integrity and transparency, Mr. Olugbemiro stated, “Our continued success is a testament to our credibility and the impact of the event.”

The Nigeria Media Nite Award stands as a beacon of honour, recognising hard work and dedication while inspiring future generations of media professionals to maintain high standards of truth, objectivity, creativity, and excellence.
