Nigeria’s representative at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, Onyinyechi Basil, has called for public support and votes as she continues to represent the country on the global stage in Thailand.

Miss Universe Nigeria made the appeal on its official Facebook handle on Monday, urging Nigerians at home and abroad to vote for Basil across all categories in the ongoing competition.

“The time is now, Nigeria!

“Our queen, Onyinyechi Basil, is flying the Green and White with grace, power, and purpose at the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Thailand,” the post read.

The statement encouraged citizens to rally behind Basil and “show the world the strength of our unity — every vote counts, and every click brings Nigeria closer to the crown.”

It also outlined the voting steps through the Miss Universe App, urging fans to “search for Nigeria in all categories” and “vote and share.”

A follow-up post from the Miss Universe Nigeria organisation celebrated Basil’s dedication since arriving in Thailand.

“A week ago, our Queen embarked on a journey to Thailand — a mission to raise our flag high and represent Nigeria at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition,” it read.

“As an organisation, we are deeply proud of her unwavering commitment, grace, and hard work throughout this incredible journey.”

The statement also expressed gratitude to supporters, ”To all Nigerians across the world — thank you for your endless support, prayers, and votes. We see every tag, every message, every effort. Let’s keep the momentum going!”

Voting, according to the organisers, remains open across several categories on the official Miss Universe App, including Most Photogenic, People’s Choice, Miss Congeniality, Best Skin, Best Evening Gown, Best National Costume, Beyond the Crown, and Most Beautiful People, all closing on November 19, 2025.
