Nigeria Food Summit: Experts, Stakeholders Poised To Discuss Positioning Nigeria As Global Hub

The Nigeria Food Summit (NFS) 2025, a premier gathering of industry leaders, is set to redefine Nigeria’s food sector and elevate it to global recognition.

The epoch event, now in its second year is convened by renowned culinary expert Gbolabo Adebakin (Chef Gibbs), hopes to build on the success of its inaugural edition held in November 2024, and aims to bridge gaps in the food value chain by fostering collaboration among farmers, chefs, food tech innovators, and industry stakeholders.

At the Virtual Press Conference held on March 14, Chef Gibbs emphasized the summit’s theme, “Making Nigeria a Global Food Destination.”

He highlighted the need for Nigeria to celebrate its diverse food culture while leveraging modern agricultural technology to drive industry growth.

Speaking at a press briefing recently, he stressed the importance of collaboration in ensuring that Nigeria’s food industry reaches its full potential, creating a seamless connection between food producers and consumers.

“We have a unique and diverse food culture that deserves global recognition. Through the Nigeria Food Summit, we are creating a platform that connects every player in the food ecosystem – from farmers to culinary professionals – to drive innovation, sustainability, and economic expansion,” said Chef Gibbs.

The summit, scheduled for March 21, 2025, at Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, promises a dynamic experience for all attendees. It will feature expert-led discussions on key industry topics, including food technology, business scalability, and supply chain improvements.

Attendees will also witness live cooking demonstrations and masterclasses from top Nigerian chefs on molecular gastronomy, who will also showcase innovative ways to spotlight Nigerian cuisines globally.

A dedicated exhibition zone will offer a marketplace for food tech startups, agricultural suppliers, and culinary service providers, while a business clinic will provide free consultation services in finance, branding, HR, legal, and tax advisory for food entrepreneurs.

The highly-anticipated Pitch-a-Ton competition will give emerging food business owners the opportunity to secure grants, mentorship, and investment to scale their ventures.

Industry leaders and organizations such as Q21 Solutions, Opportunik, Glovo, Opay, Sterling Bank, and Afro Flavor amidst others have partnered with NFS 2025 to ensure its success.

Also speaking at the press conference, Eunice Adeyemi, CEO of Q21 Solutions, expressed her enthusiasm about the summit’s potential to transform the Nigerian food industry.

She emphasized that the event is not just a gathering but a movement that will reshape the way Nigeria’s food sector is perceived and engaged on a global scale.

One of the standout features of the summit will be the culinary museum, which will present the history of Nigerian food, exploring culinary artifacts and traditions from different regions.

Additionally, a live farm exhibit will be showcased, offering insights into sustainable agricultural practices and the farm-to-table model that is crucial for the industry’s future.

Beyond showcasing Nigeria’s food culture, the summit will address key challenges in the industry. Discussions will focus on strengthening the food supply chain to minimize waste and improve market accessibility.

There will be deliberate efforts to encourage direct engagement between farmers and business owners, ensuring that production and distribution are efficient.

The event will also explore the role of technology in agriculture, with insights from innovators in food logistics, digital platforms, and financial solutions.

As Nigeria continues to navigate food security challenges and seeks greater global recognition, Nigeria Food Summit 2025 stands as a pivotal platform for industry players to come together, learn, and influence policies for innovation.

This year’s edition will feature keynote speakers as Mr. Sadiq Rabiu, Mr. Kola Oyeneyin, Mr. Abubakar Suleiman, Diary of a Kitchen Lover, and the Kitchen Muse alongside other industry experts who will share insights on food systems transformation, investment opportunities, and policy frameworks shaping the sector.

The event proudly sponsored by Sterling Bank, Opay, Nestle, FMN, Mira, and WoodScope, Josien, and Glovo is expected to attract thousands of attendees, including policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and culinary enthusiasts, making it a landmark moment for the Nigerian food industry.
