“My Dad Wasn’t There When I Needed Him” Sophia Momodu Shares Emotional Message Imade Sent To Her Grandma

by The Culture Newspaper December 22, 2023
by The Culture Newspaper December 22, 2023
Sophia Momodou, renowned socialite and mother of Davido’s daughter, Imade, says his father was not there for her when it matters most.

Imade made this known via her Snapchat.

Imade, in a heartfelt band somewhat blurred out message to her grandmother, expressed deep love and admiration.

However, a revelation emerged as she disclosed her disappointment since the loss of her half-brother, Davido’s child with his current wife, Chioma.

The part that caught many netizens’ attention was Imade’s admission that her father, Davido, had not been present in her life recently, causing her profound sadness. The disclosure hinted at a strained relationship between father and daughter during challenging times.

Imade listed her close friends, including Jamil, Tiwa Savage’s son, highlighting the limited circle she currently has.

Sophia Momodou, reacting to the post, expressed curiosity about who taught her child to send such elaborate messages and humorously lamented not being included in Imade’s list of friends.

However, speculation arose that Sophia intentionally omitted the part addressing Davido’s absence, potentially fueling tensions.

This incident echoes past controversies, particularly in June-July 2023, when Sophia publicly criticized Davido for allegedly neglecting financial responsibilities towards Imade. Notably, during this period, she didn’t shy away from involving Davido’s wife, Chioma, in the conversation. The online saga gained momentum as Sophia accused Chioma of silence amidst alleged parental negligence.

Recall that Davido faced personal challenges, including the loss of his son, Ifeanyi, with Chioma, in October of the previous year. However, he recently welcomed twins with Chioma.
