Afropop singer, Bella Shmurda, has revealed how fellow artiste, Mohbad, attempted to end his life during a disagreement he had last year with Marlian Records, his former record label.
The ‘Philo’ crooner revealed this when he had a sit-down with Chude Jideonwo on the latest episode of #WithChude.
Speaking on his tweet when Mohbad was in conflict with his previous label, Marlian Music, he shared: “Mohbad is my brother, and before I spoke out, I had been in this thing. Though it was low key. I saw what happened, even from the first time till this second time.
“I have always been in the loop of things, but at that point someone had to speak for him. At a point, Myself and Mohbad were in an apartment, and he said he wanted to jump from upstairs.”
He narrated how Mohbad was going to take his own life but was saved by his girlfriend, who got in just in time.
“You can’t just keep going under and these people are just forming there’s nothing happening. Something is happening, and it is going to the extreme,” he added.
Mohbad is a former artiste signed with Marlian Records, which is owned by Naira Marley.
But in October 2022, the fast-rising singer alleged assault by the record label’s owner.
Mohbad also claimed the members of staff of the music label assaulted him for requesting a new manager.
In his reaction, Marley had alleged that Mohbad was “high” when making the allegations.
Bella Shmurda however slammed the Marlian Records boss over the alleged assault while Mohbad terminated his contract with the label.
