Despite the ongoing lockdown introduced in Lithuania due to the coronavirus pandemic, the country’s capital will host a unique fashion event – a Facemask Fashion Week, which will be presented by artists on Tuesday.
Stylish and expressive facemasks will be displayed on billboards on the streets of Vilnius during the event.
The initiative was born in social networks when the government issued a directive requiring everyone to wear facemasks in public places, starting from April 10, and was eventually joined by photographers, designers and business people.
“Facemasks have become a necessary accessory, which people have decided to improve and adapt to their style and to turn an unpleasant and unconventional accessory into a mean of self-expression or fun,” Vilnius tourism and business promotion agency said in a press release.
