Jorja Smith Joins Forces With Wizkid On ‘Alive’ Ahead Of Third Album

British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith has collaborated with Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid on a new single titled Alive, released on 2 July ahead of her forthcoming album, ‘What Are The Odds.’

The track serves as one of the lead singles from Smith’s third studio album, scheduled for release on August 21 through FAMM Records.

Produced by acclaimed British-Nigerian producer P2J, Alive is a mix of R&B with Afrobeats. The song explores the excitement and optimism of a new relationship.

The single was written by Smith, Wizkid, P2J, Clementine Douglas and Austin Jnr Iornongu Iwar, while Sam Harper handled the mixing and Prash ‘Engine-Earz’ Mistry mastered the record.

A music video directed by Gabriel Trautmann accompanies the release, featuring both artistes in romantic scenes that reflect the song’s laid-back summer mood.

Speaking about the collaboration, Smith said to Billboard, “Making this with P2J and WizKid felt really easy. We wrote and recorded it together in London.

“I think we captured that feeling when you’re at the beginning of something with someone and everything feels exciting. I’ve always loved WizKid’s music and the way he’s opened so many doors for Afrobeats around the world, so it feels really special and a big honor to have a song with him.

She added, “This album came together really naturally. There was never a big plan; it was just me making music that felt right in the moment.”

The release has already generated attention across streaming platforms and music publications.

The collaboration comes as Wizkid continues an active run of international features in 2026.

He also recently appeared on ‘Coca Body,’ a new single by Dutch rapper Frenna featuring British-Nigerian singer Odeal.
