IFCD Opens Call For $100,000 Funding

United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has opened call for its International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).

The funding which grants a maximum of $100,000, is targeted at projects that strengthen the means of creation, distribution, and access to diverse cultural goods and services in developing countries that are signatories to the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

IFCD spans traversal projects around cultural policies or strategies, copyright etc. or sectoral projects consisting audio-visual/cinema, design, media arts, music, performing arts, publishing and visual arts.

Eligible projects must be 12 to 24 months-long, kickstarting no later than April 2026, and funding disbursed in installments – 50 percent at the beginning of the project, 30 percent mid-project, and 20 percent post project.

Application documents must be submitted in English or French, on or before May 21, 12pm Paris time.

Eligible applicants include, public authorities and institutions from UNESCO 2005 Convention, and non-governmental institutions in countries signatory to the UNESCO 2005 Convention that meet the definition of a civil society.

Finally, international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) registered with the UNESCO 2005 Convention that meet the definition of civil society, and reflect projects in developing countries that are impactful at the sub-regional, regional or inter-regional level.
