by The Culture Newspaper July 31, 2024
Nigerian singer, Young Jonn has said he became an artiste by accident.

In a recent interview with Revolt, the producer-turned-singer explained that he never planned on becoming an artist but life happened.

“I never really planned to be an artist, but life played out,” he said.

On his transition from producer to artiste, Jonn said, “It was a learning process. It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind and business.

“It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it.”

While finding his footing as an artist, Young Jonn said Olamide, Kizz Daniel and Lil Kesh inspired him.

Jonn worked with Olamide’s YBNL Nation early on in his career and produced multiple songs for Lil Kesh, Olamide himself and other of the label’s artists.
