Veteran singer, Eldee The Don has claiimed that he encouraged Wizkid to choose the path of Afrobeats.
In an interview with ‘ Adesope Live show’, Eldee noted that he was initially leaning towards Reggae and Dancehall, but he advised him to create music with Nigerian influences.
“Wizkid was leaning towards Reggae and Dancehall when Banky W signed him before he dropped his first single but I told him he has to find a middle ground and do something Nigerian with a lot of flavors in it,” he said.
Eldee said Wizkid took the advice and started making Afropop songs like ‘Don’t Dull,’ which gave him a big break.
