Funke Akindele has been named the highest-grossing lead actress of 2024, thanks to her film ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa,‘ which raked in N1.125 billion at the box office.

In an Instagram post on Monday, FilmOne Entertainment, the prestigious movie distribution company in West Africa, celebrated the top 10 highest-grossing Nollywood lead and supporting actresses of 2024.

“These leading ladies have made box office history!!! From record shattering lead actresses to the attention gripping supporting roles,” the post reads.

“As we unveil the Top 10 highest grossing Nollywood lead and supporting actresses of 2024. We celebrate their talent, grit and star power.

“It’s almost here!! Brace up for the impact of the Official 2024 Box Office Year Book releasing today.”

Here are the top 10 highest-grossing lead actresses of 2024:

– 1. Funke Akindele: ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ (N1.125 billion)
– 2. Wunmi Toriola: ‘Queen Lateefah’ (N365 million)
– 3. Toyin Abraham: ‘Alakada: Bad and Boujee’ and ‘American Japa’ (N266 million)
– 4. Tomike Adeoye: ‘Ajosepo’ (N257 million)
– 5. Eniola Ajao: ‘Beast of Two Worlds: Ajakaju’ (N253 million)
– 6. Kehinde Bankole: ‘Funmilayo Ransom Kuti’ and ‘Blacksmith’ (N222 million)
– 7. Adunni Ade: ‘Lakatabu’ (N202 million)
– 8. Uche Montana: ‘Thinline,’ ‘The Betrayer,’ and ‘Silent Intruder’ (N186 million)
– 9. Regina Daniel: ‘The Waiter’
– 10. Gbubemi Ejeye: ‘Farmer’s Bride’ (N167 million)

In the supporting actress category, Omotunde Adebowale and Juliana Olayode took the top spot, followed by Mercy Aigbe and Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori in second and third place, respectively.

On January 14, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa‘ became the highest-grossing movie of all time in West Africa, grossing an impressive N1.6 billion just one month after its release.

The film is part of the popular Jenifa franchise, which has been entertaining audiences since 2008.
