Barely five months into his new corporate headquarters and multi-purpose culture hub, Kunle Afolayan’s magnificent edifice, the KAPhub, on Saturday received its biggest visitors till date.
The Ambassador of France in Nigeria, His Excellency, Monsieur Jérôme Pasquier led a high-powered delegation to the Ikeja-based KAPhub in company with other senior envoys from the French embassy in Abuja, Lagos Consular office as well as the Alliance Francaise in Lagos.

Received by the hub’s arrowhead and celebrated filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan together with a former Cimmissioner for Tourism Arts and Culture in Lagos and publisher of TCN, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, the French delegation included the Consul General, Madame Laurence Monmayrant; the Regional Attaché for Audio Visual Affairs (Lagos), Yoann Talhouarne and the Director of the Alliance Française, Charles Courdent. “It was heartwarming to have the team commend our productions and our passion in promoting African culture through our craft and this centre,” an impressed Afolayan said.

The delegation was taken on a tour of the hub, watched the trailer of Afolayan’s latest film, Citation, which will premiere on Netflix on November 6 and also engaged the Management of Golden Effects and Kunle Afolayan Productions in mutually-beneficial talks bordering on a proposed photographic exhibition, film production and distribution as well as the KAP Film and Television Academy.

“Since inception, this hub has been a cultural center that is dedicated to creating an enabling environment for art, culture, the general entertainment industry, and tourism,” Afolayan said. He added that the Afefeyeye Restaurant & Bar which is expected to be finished in the first quarter of next year as part of the Phase 2 of the project, will further drive the import of why Ikeja needs a thriving cultural space like the KAPhub.
Overtime, the hub has received the support of prominent individuals like the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Art and Culture; Mr. Solomon Bonu, the CEO of Culturatti; Idris Aregbe and notable others who have visited the KAPhub.
