The Federal Government has granted Lufthansa and Air France/KLM approval to resume international flights into Nigeria about two months after the airlines were barred.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who disclosed this in a tweet on Tuesday, also added that Qatar Airways had been granted approval to resume flights to Abuja.

The Minister also mentioned the possibility of the Aminu Kano International Airport, Port Harcourt International Airport and Enugu Airport receiving foreign travellers before the end of this year.

“We are working with Ministry of Health, CACOVID and The PTF to open Kano, Port Harcourt and possibly Enugu airports before the end of the year. Also Lufthansa, Air France/KLM have been given go-ahead to resume. Qatar Airways is approved to start Abuja. Thank you for your patience,” he tweeted.

The Federal Government, in September, had barred some airlines from entering the country as it resumed international flights operations due to covid19 preventive measures.
